Waimanalo, Hawaii.  The December issue of "96795 Newsletter" was mailed with the main article depicting the Waimanalo Hawaiian Homes Association (WHHA), its history and more importantly the contributions made by Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole as the author and U.S. Congressional delegate responsible for the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act of 1920.

"We are fortunate to have a rich cultural heritage, but really appreciative of all of the previous Waimanalo homestead leaders who have led, directed and gave us all the sense of "community" as we know it today!"  says Paul Richards, President of WHHA.  The article recounts the history of the Association and those who had contributed to its early days unto its present establishment.  He added, "...without the visionary foresight of Prince Kuhio and support of his wife Princess Kahanu, we (homesteaders) enjoy the homes and the land which we reside on..."

WHHA will be celebrating in the near future their 75th anniversary and plans are in the making to start developing an itinerary of events.  Leading to this is the upcoming Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole Celebration to be hosted by the homestead associations of Kapolei, namely Maluohai and Kaupe'a Residents Associations on Wednesday, March 26, 2008.

More information regarding this event will be coming shortly from these associations.  "We look forward to an exciting and eventful 2008 and wish all of our 'ohana much success, best of health and a prosperous new year!"
