NHO Notification List: FR Notice - UWFWS ESA 5-Year Review of 133 Species in Hawai'i PDF Print E-mail

Aloha kakou!  Attached is a Federal Register notice from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service initiating 5-year status reviews for 138 species in Hawai'i, Oregon, Washington, and California under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended.  133 of the species are in Hawai'i.  A table listing all 138 species is in the attachment.  The Pacific Islands Fish and Wildlife Office in Hawai'i is requesting submission of new information on the Hawai'i species that has become available since the last review.

Information is requested no later than June 19, 2017.  However, they will continue to accept new information about any listed species at any time.

Please distribute this notice to the members of your Native Hawaiian organization(s) and others who may be interested.  Mahalo!

Are you registered on the Department of the Interior’s Native Hawaiian Organization (NHO) Notification List?  Register with the Office of Native Hawaiian Relations today.  Obtain a sample registration form at www.doi.gov/hawaiian/ under "Working with NHOs" or by contacting the Office below. 

The NHO Notification List is used by federal, state, and county agencies, as well as private entities, to consult with Native Hawaiian Organizations pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), and other laws.  The Office of Native Hawaiian Relations also distributes Federal notices and information of interest to the NHO Notification List.
